Wednesday pm

I have so many thoughts swirling in my head, it's hard to know where to begin. Paige had a really rough day on Monday, and Monday night had a lot of pain. Tuesday was better. Last night Shannon and Anna spent the night with her, and Anna said that Paige didn't cry out in pain once, (hooray!!) though she did talk a lot in her sleep, and made her "wounded bird" noise (musicians, think a C sliding up to a G) often during the night.

Today was groggy. Paige's face is really swollen, which makes me sad. Her kidney function isn't what it should be, and the pain medication they finally found that makes such a difference with her pain level affects her kidneys. After lunch Paige wanted to go for a stroller ride to the playroom. She looked quite miserable.

Paige and her huge bowl of Halloween candy will not be parted (thanks a lot, Aunt Lulu!) She doesn't eat much, but hands it out, and wants it to be right next to her on the bed.

I have had the little flicker of hope (which a few days ago had almost completely gone out) fanned into a bright little bonfire. A little hard to explain, but why sit around waiting for death, when I can be putting my energy into hope and life? Cancer cells are not more clever than God.

Prayer list:

  • my stress level
  • Luke; he is acquiring "girlfriends" here left and right (mostly nurses) so that "if one dies, I'll still have one left."
  • Paige's kidneys
  • for Paige's body to attack the cancer cells - everywhere, but especially in her right knee, and in her CSF (cerebrospinal fluid)
  • that she will be well enough to have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow at 12:30 a group of people from Newport NH are coming to pray for Paige. They are part of something called "Healing Rooms" a Jesus-centered prayer/healing group. Join in with them at 12:30 if you would like!

Ok. I need to go snuggle with Paige.

Glad for the HOPE that the Holy Spirit is bringing for you. You are right: God is bigger than cancer and with Him, nothing is impossible. Still praying, still believing and loving you each, thebeans

ps whenever Elizabeth is with us, she reminds us to pray for Paige, Luke and their mom and dad (at meals, in the car, bedtime...whenever we can.)

So happy to read that you maintain your hope. May God bless you with a world of hope. I have something I'd like to share with you even though I don't know you I am deeply touched by your struggle and those of little Paige. I picture her wrapped in the loving arms of God who is holding her through her pain.

What cancer can't do:
Cancer is so limited....
It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope,
It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot destroy peace,
It cannot kill friendship,

It cannot suppress memories,
It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul,
It cannot steal eternal life,

It cannot
Conquer the Spirit

I pray you feel the presence of God throughout your struggle.
God bless you all.

I put prayer out on the Corning Prayer network again this week (about 200+ people). Just praying that Jesus walks in the room and simply heals her like he has done for so many! May the peace of God keep you and your family and our dear Paige.

I Love that poem of what cancer CAN"T do!...Thnks for sharing it!Here is one more...It CANNOT lesson the power of The Resurrection!
I want to share a verse I read this week-Ps. 20:27 The Spirit of a person is the LAMP OF THE LORD, searching all the inner depths of his heart.

Paige, God sent you on a mission, a very powerful one for such a tiny girl, but Powerful just the same! The Light of your spirit has shown deep into our lives, even the suffering, heartake, and your illness is remolding each ordinary, dust clay person into vessels that are strong in Faith, vessels that are fit for His use, and vessels that display His Glory to the watching world.
For our heartakes are acheiving for us an eturnal Glory that far outweighs them all!

Your teaching me there are no pat answers to our "Why's", but we can claim Gods Spiritual principles -That God gives meaning to our meaninglessness - Hope to our hopelessness - Reason to our senselessness - Purpose to our aimlelessness - Strength to our weakness, and Courage to our faintheartedness. His principles help balance the pain - remove the sting from our suffering, and can prevent us from wasting our sorrow...Thank you Abba Daddy for sending Paige into my life...The Light of her spirit is shinning even in Boonville, Mo! You are in His will every moment of every day Paige!
(I have paraphrased some of these thoughts from Oswald Chambers writings and some from Ann Gram Lotz book "Why", and God's Word). You see Paige, your life has me digging deep into His word, and the writings of others who seek You! Paige, You are teaching me that "All things work together for good, brokenness leads to blessing, death leads to Life, and Suffering leads to Glory! I've learned these principles before, but I needed to be reminded of each of them....So I will remember that "The immortal part of a person is our spirit, and that spirit is as indestructible as ALMIGHTY GOD!!
Holding you each in our prayers!
Aunt Sylvia (and my church family out here in Mo. You've got them seeking Him too)!
