Paige had a great evening! I left to get dinner, and when I returned, she was eating a pot pie. I think she ate the whole thing. I took a nap a little later, and awoke to Paige making various animal sounds with Uncle Scott. They were roaring like lions, and she was crowing like a rooster. Then she started singing him a song. For a while people just stood around watching to see the funny things she was doing and saying.
I asked if she wanted to go on a walk, and she did, so we went, and our entire group crowded into the playroom where she wanted to sit on my lap at a little table. She colored a picture for Daddy, and when she noticed that everyone but the four of us had left (to give us some space) she said, in a worried voice, "Where friends go? Where people are?" And then she saw that the door was closed, and she started crying. So we invited them all back in, and she proudly held up her drawing for them to admire.
So it was a great evening, and I am thankful. Here are some pics from this week and hospital stay.

Dearest Kerri,
You & Ben are friends of our children and children of our friends. We hold you all up daily to a loving Father.
We appreciate all the details you write--like the trip to Disney World, the cousins & family members from all sides who are such a help, Uncle Scott's roaring like a lion, and Paiges's crowing like a rooster, singing, coloring, & having a desire to be surrounded by lots of friends inside her room (with special instructions to please be quiet at the right moments!!)
So glad there are moments of fun and joy included as you go thru this heartbreaking experience.
We also appreciate the blog responses that speak words of faith to you and to all of us (Thank you Sylvia and Lisa A and everyone else for the heart responses.)
Our prayers say Amen to yours and Ben's, Kerri, that God will perform a miracle of healing for Paige.
And however He chooses to answer the many prayers and hearts' desires, He does everything Just Right.
Incredible love and tenderness are with you and Ben and Paige and Luke and the others who love you so dearly.
May God continue to bless you, Sweetheart.

Hey, I've been praying for you all...I thought I would share some lyrics from some very special songs. Trust they bless you.
"He's My Son" written by Mark Schultz about a little boy battling leukemia...insert Paige where it says "he" or "boy"...
I'm down on my knees again tonight
I'm hoping this prayer will turn out right See there is a "boy" that needs Your help I've done all that I can do myself
"His" mother is tired
I'm sure You can understnad
Each night as "he" sleeps
She goes in to hold "his" hand
And she tries not to cry
As the tears fill her eyes
CHORUS:
Can You hear me?
Am I getting through tonight?
Can You see "him"?
Can You make "him" feel all right?
If You can hear me
Let me take "his" place somehow
See, "he's" not just anyone
"He's" my son
Sometimes late at night I watch "him" sleep
I dream of the "boy he'd" like to be I try to be strong and see "him" through But God who "he" needs right now is You Let "him" grow old Live life without this fear What would I be Living without "him" here "He's" so tired and "he's" scared Let "him" know that You're there
(Chorus)
"Praise you in this storm" by Casting Crowns
I was sure by now
God you would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as You mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will life my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth
God Bless you all!!
