biopsy results

The results were not so hot. So she is back at the hospital today for an MRI to see what's up. The cells from her spinal fluid were 98% cancerous. So she is starting a HUGE dose of chemo today to try to get her in remission so that in 4-6 weeks she can go to boston to get a bone marrow transplant. Pray that she won't get an infection, since her white blood cells will be destroyed by the chemo, and pray also that she won't get liver or kidney damage. Those are the biggest risks right now. Any of those could kill her. They couldn't see any cancer in her marrow, but genetic testing results examine that in more detail, and those results take a while to come back.

Hi, my daughter had ALL when she was 18 mos old. She had a bone marrow transplant in '99. She is 11 years old now and healthy and normal. What can I say to you? Cancer sucks big time. I'm sorry this happened to you folks. It's never fair. I remember clearly, at the beginning of our ordeal, a woman and her once cancerous but now healthy daughter made a special trip to the clinic to just try to encourage us that they made it and life can be good again. I never forgot that. They were so happy and normal. They had made it. Our ordeal seems so long ago. At the time, it was all-consuming. I don't like talking about it too much. So glad it's over and that God brought us through it. May God be with you and your daughter and bring her 100% healing. I send you love.--Lori Redman from WA
